Biography

Shi-Ming Chen (陈世明) is the Chinese NewPOL Team Leader (Principal NC). He, an associate Professor, works in the Institute of Medical Materia, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (中国医学科学院药物研究所) http://www.imm.ac.cn. He has engaged in the research and teaching work of Pharmacology and Toxicology over twenty years. He worked in Germany BASF Company as a Post-doctor for two years. He has published over 20 research papers and books, and obtained 2 international patents and 2 National patents of China, and made some achievements on Toxicology and Pharmacology in China. Now he has been doing the research work of human neural stem cells.

1) Li-Guo Zhou (周立国) is a main member in China of the International Multidisciplinary Neuroscience Research Center and International Multidisciplinary Interface Research Congress. He, a Professor, works in the Tong Ji Pharmic College, Hua Zhong University of Science and Technology in China(华中科技大学同济药学院). He has engaged in the research work and Teaching of Drug Toxicology about 30 years. He has published three books and 30 research papers, and has obtained great achievements on Drug Toxicology in China.

2) Hai-Bo Zhu (朱海波) is a main member in China of the International Multidisciplinary Neuroscience Research Center and International Multidisciplinary Interface Research Congress. He, an associate Professor, Ph.D, a group leader, works in the Institute of Medical Materia, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences(中国医学科学院药物研究所). He has engaged in the research work and Teaching of Heart and Brain Vascular Pharmacology over four years. He has published over 10 research papers, and has obtained 5 national patents of China and great achievements on Heart and Brain Vascular Pharmacology in China.

3) Yu-Ming Fan (范玉明)is a main member in China of the International Multidisciplinary Neuroscience Research Center and International Multidisciplinary Interface Research Congress. He, an associate Professor, a group leader, works in the National Institute for the Control of Pharmaceutical and Biological Products in China(中国药品生物制品检定所). He has engaged in the research work on toxicology over ten years. He has published over 20 research papers, and has obtained great achievements on Toxicology of Pharmaceutical and Biological Products in China.

Common Areas of Interest:

1. Application studies of neural stem cell transplantation for therapy of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD) have been developed.

2. Human embryonic brain NSC cell transplantation have been used for AD and PD and Stroke patients in clinic.

3. New high throughout models of screening new drugs of treating AD and PD have been establishing, such as promoting NSC cell proliferation, anti-apoptosis and signal conduction and gene transfer and other techniques. Screening new drugs of curing PA and AD have been focused on Chinese traditional medicines and herbs and new chemicals.

4. New drugs of treatment for cardiac and brain vascular diseases have been selected and discovered.

5. New stem cells will be evaluated by toxicology of biological products.

6. New drugs will be evaluated by drug toxicology.
